Enkartur. Descubre las encartaciones.

The main aim of Encartaciones Tourism – Enkartur, is to undertake actions and research aimed at raising the profile of the Las Encartaciones area, defined as a social and economic reality. The outcome sought is to boost Encartaciones from the tourism, cultural and economic perspectives.

Its headquarters are located in Calle Martín Mendia no. 2 in Balmaseda, and it is from here that the entity's various component areas are managed:

· The Tourism and Culture Area, responsible for the following functions, among others:

· Management of the Balmaseda, Karrantza, Gordexola and Sopuerta Tourist Information Offices.

· The design and putting into operation of Tourism Promotion and Marketing Plans.

· Visitor and tourist care. Organisation of trips and guided tours.

· Tourism product creation.

· The drafting of tourist guidebooks and pamphlets.

· The organisation of cultural events.

· Attending Tourism Trade Fairs.

The Enkartur headquarters are located in the heart of Balmaseda's historic Old Town (C/Martín Mendia, 2), in a stone building with a green façade, representing the entity’s corporate colour.

The ground floor of the building houses the Tourist Information Office, which offers the following visitor care services:

· Personalised care, where Enkartur staff attend visitors' requests for information.

· A self-service area where the visitor can take tourist leaflets and publications about Balmaseda, Encartaciones, Bizkaia and Euskadi.

· A Sales Area: Souvenirs and local agrifood products.

· Internet access service: Enkartur offers visitors the use of computers connected to internet to consult information and/or e-mail accounts.

· The organisation of trips and guided tours for groups.

The first floor contains a small interpretation centre for Basque mythology, in which ancient beliefs are blended with new technologies, thus bringing several of members of this fantasy world to life.

The second floor is used for Enkartur general offices.
