ARENATZarte

Arenatzarte is a park which links art with nature through
avant-garde sculpture; the Arenatza botanical garden. A natural
area where the sculptures and works of art can be enjoyed
at leisure. This ambitious project called “Arenatzarte” will be
housed in the Arenatza botanical garden.
An area of 1,5 hectares containing over thirty extraordinary
trees, some of which are over a hundred years old. This park
contains wooded areas in various landscapes, a children’s
playground, a recreational area and a ninety square metre building,
the Casa del Jardín (the Park House) which is one of the
places that really should be visited in “Arenatzarte”.
Art
The park has various areas in which the aim is not for art to
invade the natural area but rather to surface in union with it.
A painting exhibition centre in a modern glass building and the
Casa del Jardín are to house small works of art from renowned
artists.
But the most surprising aspect is not housed inside but invades
the park itself making it a natural stage for magnificent sculptures.
After various contacts with Basque sculptors, proposals
have been provided by artists like Koldobika Jauregi, the Roscubas
brothers and Ángel Garraza amongst others.
