Bizkaia Ecological Park develops a great work of recuperation of the animals to get them integrated in the natural
environment.
In the installations of the park, in a plot of land with more than 20 hectares there is a great sample of the Iberian and
European fauna:
wolves, fallow deers, bears, lynxes, vultures, ferrets, deers, wild boars, and a great group of birds ; among them the
main ones are the wading birds, and also birds of prey. Totally more than 50 species grow up in a natural
environment. The place, also known as El Karpin, is covered with local forests, fields, and exotic trees. The
installations have educative characteristics, offering guided visits, educative programmes, and exhibitions. They try to
spread the values of biodiversity and the love for animals.
